Bobbi Hadsell Bauer

Barbara “Bobbi” Bauer, 79, of Wooster and a longtime resident of Jefferson Twp., died peacefully Wednesday evening, March 17, 2021 at Wooster Community Hospital of heart complications.

Bobbi was born January 18, 1942 in Columbus, the only child of the late Robert and Faye (Woolum) Coleman, and moved to Los Angeles when she was in 7th grade. A gifted student, Bobbi was placed in an accelerated program and graduated in January 1959 with the first class of JH Francis Polytechnic High School in Burbank. She immediately began working for a record label before marrying Jerry Hadsell, a fellow Ohio native she met during school, on September 4, 1959. The Hadsells moved to Ohio where their sons were born, made their way back to the west coast, then back to Ohio where they settled on their family’s farmland. Jerry passed away on March 17, 1995. She then married P. Eldon Bauer in 1997, enjoying 19 years of companionship and friendship until his death in 2017.

Bobbi will be remembered for her love of family, her contagious laugh, and joy for square dancing. She and Jerry were staples in the Bucyrus Buckaroos and enjoyed dances anywhere and everywhere with Jerry often doing the calling. She also met Eldon through square dance connections and was a member of the Shelby Cloverleafs club. Her work career included the recording industry, Grace UMC Secretary, Galion Hospital Admissions, and she retired from BJ Engraving, a company she and Jerry owned and operated where they engraved nametags.

Along with square dancing, Bobbi loved to read, do needlepoint, and sew. Her dislike of cooking meant more opportunities to eat out and no distance was too far for a great restaurant. She loved her Lord and Savior, was baptized as a teen, had devotions daily, and enjoyed the fellowship of several churches over the years. She passionately followed Ohio State football, basketball, and hockey and she enjoyed winters in Daytona Beach with Eldon for several years. She also loved listening to Elvis and all things Disney as one of her earliest dates with Jerry was to the newly opened Disneyland.

Bobbi is survived by sons, Sandy (Cheryl) Hadsell and Robert (Darla) Hadsell; stepchildren, Deb Morgeson, Charisse (Rob) Klug, Doreen Sharpe, and Paul (Caroline) Bauer; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol (Benny) Hoffman, Debbie Hadsell, Lee (Jade) Sand, Richard Bauer, and Russell DeVore. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by grandson, Kristopher Hadsell.

Bobbi’s services will be held on Tuesday, March 23 at Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus. Family will receive friends from 10-10:55 am and the memorial service will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will take place in Crawford County Memory Gardens.

Memorial donations can be made payable to her sons’ churches, St. Paul’s Lutheran North Robinson, or Freshwater Alliance Church. These gifts can be given through the funeral home. Memories and photos can be shared on Bobbi’s Tribute Wall.
