Steve Fisher

Stephen J. Fisher, 67, of Bucyrus died unexpectedly of natural causes on July 11, 2017 at his home.

He was born June 3, 1950 in Middletown to the late John and June (Marcum) Fisher and the family moved to Bucyrus to open and operate Fisher Auto Parts. Steve went to Bucyrus High School where he was known as “Fish,” managed the football team, and graduated in 1968. He worked for the family store and United Telephone before moving to Corbin, Kentucky to care for his mother and returned after his health began to decline.

Steve will be remembered as a people person who enjoyed working on things, keeping track of his family, and driving his old truck. He was a huge OSU football fan, especially the Woody era, when he attended a few Rose Bowl games. He was a former officer of Moose Lodge 669 and socialized at the Bucyrus AmVets, American Legion, and VFW 1078 posts.

Steve is survived by siblings, Rose Keller, Jim (Lynne) Fisher, Amy (Wyatt) Mullins, and Paul Fisher and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nephews, Bobby Keller and Brian Fisher; niece, Carol Mullins; and his brother-in-law, Robert Keller.

Steve’s family will receive friends for a meal and memories in the fellowship hall of the Bucyrus First Alliance Church, 1955 Hopley Ave. from 12 Noon-2pm on Saturday, July 15. Steve will be laid to rest privately following his cremation.

Memorial donations may be made payable to a charity of the donor’s choice and given through Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus. Memories and photos can be shared on Steve’s Tribute Wall.
