James A. Kleer

James Alan Kleer, 69, of Bucyrus, died Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Heartland of Bucyrus.

Jim was born December 24, 1948 in Mansfield to the late John and Marilyn (Grandon) Kleer. In 1954 his family moved to Plymouth where he graduated from Plymouth High School in 1967. On August 10, 1975, Jim married Gail E. Kincade and she survives.

Following his move to Bucyrus in 1975, he began working for Sam Zarcone, who taught him to clean windows. A short time later, Jim started his own business and for the next 30 years, he helped make area businesses brighter and cleaner as he took pride in running Jim’s Window Cleaning.

Jim was a member of Potter’s House Baptist Church. He enjoyed the game of golf and early on in life, he could often be found at Twin Lakes. The past several years he played at the Golf Club of Bucyrus. Other than Gail, Jim’s passion was music. He was a musical buff and pretty much knew the song title, artist and year of any pop music hit spanning three decades from the 50s, 60s and 70s. Jim also operated his own record store, Jim’s Records for a number of years and at one time, he owned over 22,000 45s and 8000 lps. His favorite band was 5th Dimension and Jim was proud to have seen The Four Seasons and personally met Frankie Valli backstage after a show in Detroit. For relaxation, Jim enjoyed time spent in front of the TV watching golf, baseball, basketball or his favorite Andy Griffith Show.

In addition to his wife of 47 years, Jim is survived by siblings, Steven (Karen) Kleer of Lima and Peggy Kleer of Columbus and two nephews, Adam Kleer and Aaron Kleer. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his father and mother-in-law, Robert and June Kincade.
