Barbara
Jean Light, 76, of Brooklyn, New York, died Thursday, February 18
at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn.
She was born
January 31, 1934 in Bellevue to the late Ward and Geneva (McHenry)
Light. Barbara was a 1951 graduate of Bucyrus High School and worked
at Second National Bank upon graduation. She moved to Kettering
and took courses in accounting to further her career. She then worked
for Mead Paper Co. who, in 1962, sent her to New York City for six
months to open an office and she stayed there for the next 48 years.
She is survived
by three brothers, Bill Light of Bucyrus, Ed Light and wife Ilene
of Bucyrus and Louis Light and wife Mary of North Ridgeville; one
sister, Jennifer (Light) Sweigard and husband Larry of Upper Sandusky;
two sisters-in-law, Shirley Light of Bucyrus and Rosie Light of
Palm Coast, Florida.
Barb was preceded
in death by two brothers, Jack and Walter Light; a sister-in-law,
Jeannine Light; and her canine companion of 19 years, "Duke."
Barb loved spending
time with family and her multitude of friends and neighbors. She
enjoyed traveling and watching and attending sporting events, especially
her New York teams. She will certainly be missed by many.
Her family will
receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, February 24 at Wise Funeral
Service, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday
with Pastor Bradley Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood
Cemetery. Contributions may be made to First Christian Church or
the American Heart Association through the funeral home.
