Anne L. Garrett,
83, of Bucyrus, died, Thursday, January 21 at AlterCare.
Mrs. Garrett
was born in Horrheim, Germany to the late August and Anna Plapp
on March 31, 1926. Her family moved to rural Lima when she was two
years old. In 1948, she graduated from Bluffton College with a degree
in English and went on to become an English teacher in New York
City until her retirement in 1988. She moved to Bucyrus in 1988
to be closer to family. Mrs. Garrett was a member of the former
First Church of Christ, Scientist, Bucyrus.
She is survived
by a sister, Karin Marie Sass, of Monroe, Wisconsin and 11 nieces
and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death
by her husband, Jack Garrett; a brother, Herbert Plapp; and a sister,
Gretchen Montag.
A funeral service
will be held Saturday, January 23 at 2 p.m. at Wise Funeral Service
with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions
may be made through the funeral home to the Salvation Army, Bucyrus.
