Elmo Adams, 79, of Bucyrus, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, November 24.

He was born October 11, 1930 in Salt Peter, West Virginia to the late Eskil and Vina (Jordon) Adams. Elmo graduated from Blain High School and on October 21, 1950 he married Sylvia Mulkey who survives. He was a veteran, serving with U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He came to Bucyrus following his time in the service and worked as a Machinist at GM in Ontario until retiring in 1984. He also farmed part time for many of those years.

Elmo attended the Freewill Baptist Church in Bucyrus. His hobbies were guns and hunting and he loved to trade anything.

In addition to his wife of 59 years, Elmo is survived by three children, Brady (Vickie) Adams, Mike (Cathy) Adams, both of Galion, and Debbie (Roger) Morton of Bucyrus; nine grandchildren, Aaron (Lindsey) Adams, Eric Adams, Nathan (Nola) Adams, all of Galion, Michelle (Heath) Staiger of Apollo Beach, Florida, Stephanie Damron of Shelby and Jennifer Damron of Galion, Jina (Shawn) Arnold of San Diego, California, Kiersten Morton and Jacob Morton, both of Bucyrus; 20 great grandchildren and three sisters, Bernice (Eppie) Johnson, Betty Johnson, both of Columbus, and Carlene (Flymm) Marcum of Pomeroy. He is preceded in death by two sisters.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene in Bucyrus, where funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Eric Boggs officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Galion. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Bucyrus Free Will Baptist Church.
